Teach Yourself  The@ter

The Red Curtain International now has access to the talent that created award-winning the@ter.

The@ter that knows no borders. Where geography is history.

The audience, performer, and crew could be anywhere in the world with a wi-fi connection.
They share the same time and space.

We call it the@ter.

Whether your country is still under lockdown or theater spaces have begun to open up, thanks to technology you can have an international paying audience be part of your live performance.

We're not talking 'pre-recorded' or live streaming where you can't sense the presence of the audience.
We mean performances where the audience that day changes the performance that day.

The very essence of theater.

No retakes.

Here are four options for making the world your stage.

1. Learn-by-doing Webinars

No, you are not asked to turn off your video. You learn through the first language you ever knew.

Body Language.

2. From Physical to Phygit@l

Our workshop faculty will show you how to adapt any existing production,
or a completely new play, to a phygital performance.

Where you can perform to a local audience and a global audience, simultaneously.
We are doing this to demonstrate that it is possible
to perform to a paying audience.

For actors to earn, online.
Doing the@ter.

3. 15 session Learn-by-Producing Workshop

This course is conducted over 5 weeks and ends with you becoming a part of a new production by The Red Curtain. You perform along with veteran members of The Red Curtain.

The course fees are the equivalent of US$ 150. Proceeds go to our current cause.

A new batch will start as soon as 10 participants sign up.

Those who feel that they can not afford the fee but still want to learn
can apply through our internship program.

4. Internships

We invite students of theater to apply for internships of between two to three months.

Our internship program covers those who are interested in more than one of these areas.

Acting. Directing. Screen Management. Production Design. Publicity. Fund Raising.

Currently, this is not a paid internship, but interns will become part of the 15 session Learn-by-Producing Workshop and would not have to pay the course fee.

The purpose of the internship program is to provide work experience in producing
The@ter Without Borders.

Testimonials

From Sanjeev Roy, Artistic Director, HokNatok

The e-play workshop run by The Red Curtain International was just the tonic our group needed.

We are Hoknatok, an amateur group of theatre lovers from Gurgaon.

Our latest production was scheduled for a mid May launch and then....

Sometime in August, we decided that we needed to adapt to the existing reality and plan shows online.
A fortuitous discussion with Sumit led to a customized workshop for us.
Learning what it will take to do a ‘zoom’ play, discovering the idiom, taking on the challenge of going ‘live’ online.

Besides learning new skills,
the workshop has provided renewed energy and focus to the group.
Everyone is talking about ‘tech checks’, light balance and raring to go.

Theatre enthusiasts,

this workshop is highly recommended to learn a new language

that will help to keep theatre alive and going in the virtual world.

Thank you, The Red Curtain International, for the ray of hope.
